We are thrilled to announce that the Umuguma Okuku Family Development Initiative has successfully completed an intensive six-month Governance and Systems Strengthening program! Facilitated by SOS Children’s Villages Nigeria (SOS CVN) and delivered by the expert team at Luge Dynamic Services Ltd, this journey has completely transformed our operational foundation.
Through interactive workshops, tool co-creation, and hands-on mentoring, our leadership and staff worked hard to achieve major institutional milestones:
- Solidified Governance: We optimized our board structure, clarified leadership roles, and instituted a robust conflict-of-interest policy to guarantee transparent decision-making.
- Operational Excellence: We co-created and adopted comprehensive, professional manuals for Financial Management, Human Resources, Procurement, and Project Management.
- Practical Tools: Our team is now fully equipped with standardized templates for budgeting, data collection, and Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) to track our community impact accurately.
- Uncompromising Safety: We institutionalized strict Child and Youth Safeguarding policies to ensure our programs remain a safe haven for every child we reach.
To crown this achievement, our team members were proudly awarded certificates of completion, symbolizing our verified readiness to manage resources with the highest level of accountability.
This milestone marks a powerful new beginning for UOFDI. With formalized systems and a clear strategic vision, we are more equipped than ever to drive sustainable community ownership, mobilize local resources, and attract new global partnerships.
